The truth

A man had long been searching for the truth. He had traveled jungles, deserts, cities ... until a sage entrusted him with the place where he would find what he was looking for.

After several days of walking, he finally reached an immense temple carved out of the rock, approached the entrance and, seeing that no one was there, accessed its interior.

He was surprised to discover a huge multi-storey room filled with oil candles.

Before long she observed an old man going from candle to candle taking care of them.

"Is this where I can find the truth?"

"Yes, here it is, see all those candles ...

"Yes, what are they for?"

—You see, each one represents the life of a person, as the oil is consumed means that they have less time left.

"Well," said the surprised traveler, "and could you tell me which one is mine?"

"Are you sure you want to know?" Are you sure you want to know the truth?

—Yes, of course, that's what I've come to, that's why I've been walking for so long, I'd like to know the truth.

"In that case, follow me and we'll find you."

They started up several stairs, and after crossing more than ten rooms, they finally reached a small room.

"That one over there, the fourth from the right, is yours."

The traveler slowly approached his candle and when he had it in front of him, he realized that the flame was weakening, almost about to extinguish. So he took the candle next to him with the intention of pouring some oil into his.

When the oil was about to pass from one candle to the other, the old man stopped his hand.

"I thought you were looking for the truth."
