I heard an ancient parable. And it must be very old because in those days God used to live on earth.
Then one day an old peasant came to see him and said:
Look, you must be God and you must have created the world, but there is one thing I have to tell you: You are not a peasant, you do not even know the ABC of agriculture. You have something to learn.
God said:
What is your advice?
The farmer said:
Give me a year and let me do things the way I want and let's see what happens. Poverty will no longer exist.
God accepted and gave one year to the farmer. Naturally he asked for the best and only the best: no storms, no wind, no danger to the grain. Everything comfortable, comfortable and he was very happy. The wheat grew very high. When I wanted sun, there was sun; When I wanted rain, there was as much rain as needed. This year everything was perfect, mathematically perfect.
The wheat grew so high that the farmer went to see God and said:
Look! This time we will have so much grain that if people do not work in ten years, we will still have enough food. But when the beans were collected they were empty. The farmer was surprised. He asked God:
What happened, what mistake was there?
God said:
Since there was no challenge, no conflict, no friction, as you avoided everything that was bad, the wheat became impotent. A little bit of fighting is a must. Storms, thunder, lightning are necessary, because they shake the soul within the wheat. The night is as necessary as the day and the days of sadness are as essential as the days of happiness. This is called understanding. Understanding this secret you will discover how great is the beauty of life, how much wealth rains on you at all times, leaving you feeling miserable because things do not go according to your wishes.
